Need a new headshot? đź“¸ Stop by our come-and-go headshot session this month to have your photo taken. We'll be here Tuesday, March 26 from 9-11:30 a.m. in room 010A of the Classroom Building. These sessions are free and open to the CAS community. 

 

ICYMI: CAS News and Highlights

Memoirist and publisher Kristine Langley Mahler is coming to campus on March 14 to speak “On the Inquiry for Truth as a Civic Good.”   

 

Dr. Charles Abramson, Department of Psychology Regents Professor, was published in American Scientist magazine’s January-February issue for “A Hidden Life of Research,” an article highlighting the life and accomplishments of African American comparative psychologist Charles Henry Turner.

 

Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Regents Professor Dr. Tyrrell Conway has published a paper on nitrogen sources and the E. coli bacteria, work that correlates directly with his and OSU's roles in the recently established Oklahoma Center for Microbiome Research. 

 

Department of Integrative Biology professor Dr. Michael Reichert has been awarded a CAREER grant from the National Science Foundation totaling more than $1.5 million for research on animal behavior.   
 

Holistic Science Prize

The Conversation coming to OSU

Bruce Wilson, founder of The Conversation, is coming to the OSU-Stillwater campus April 2-3. There will be an open forum from 2:30-3:30 p.m., April 2, for faculty members to ask questions and learn more. To register for the forum, please email Mack Burke.

Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Antonio Castilla

Dr. Antonio Castilla joined Oklahoma State University in August 2023 as an assistant professor in the Department of Plant Biology, Ecology, and Evolution. 

 

His group focuses on understanding how genetic variation arises in plant populations, with a specific interest in dispersal processes.
