Welcome to the Team!

We’ve recently added a few new faces to our CAS family, so we’d like to take this opportunity to introduce them to you.

The beginning of 2024 brought a shift to the College of Arts and Sciences leadership team: Reneé Tefertiller retired as CAS director of fiscal operations, and new-to-OSU Ann Nelson was hired in her stead.

From left: Emilie Tallent, Steven Plummer and Ramitha Raja

Emilie Tallent is our new assistant director of sponsored programs. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville in 2015, where she also minored in biology, Spanish, and medieval literature. She made the westward move to Oklahoma from her Arkansas home to study creative writing here at OSU, earning her MFA in 2018. While a student here, she taught creative writing and freshmen composition courses for three years. Emilie also has five years of experience working in sponsored programs at OSU. “What I look forward to most in this new position is continuing to serve and support our faculty and students in all their research endeavors,” Emilie said.

Steven Plummer is one of the two newest members of our CAS Research team. Originally from Fort Worth, Steven holds an associate degree from Tarrant County College and is currently working toward finishing a degree in marketing here at OSU. Before venturing over to CAS, Steven worked as a department assistant for the School of Entrepreneurship in Spears. Prior to that role, he worked in the assisted living industry for eight years. “I’m excited about this role on the CAS Research team because to me, this seemed more like a career path that I can see myself settling into long-term,” Steven said. “I am excited about ... being a small part in helping the university bring in more funds and helping faculty with their research goals.”

Ramitha Raja is another new addition to the CAS Research team. Originally from India, she, her husband and son have called Stillwater home for the past 15 years. Ramitha has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from OSU and a master’s in accounting from Oklahoma Christian University. She worked as a financial assistant for the Spears School of Business before transitioning to being a sponsored program coordinator in 2015. “I am very excited about my role here in CAS as this will give me more opportunity to learn about research administration. I knew I found a career path that was both challenging and fulfilling,” Ramitha said. “Looking forward, I hope to remain engaged in my field and expand my professional capabilities and continue to support our faculty with their research goals and productivity.”

Congratulations on your new positions, Ann, Emilie, Steven and Ramitha, and welcome to the CAS family!
