Willie Gilbert, D.O.OSUCOM '19 Recently had one of his 25 year old patients with diabetes decrease their AIC from 6.7% to 5.6% in 6 weeks by following up on their diet and starting them on exercise. The patient is even wanting to quit smoking. They even gave him their cigarette pack to hold them accountable.

OSU Center for Health Sciences has been awarded approximately $300,000 from the USDA to purchase telemedicine equipment to provide patient care and clinician training to northeast Oklahoma. The grant, along with matching funds from OSU-CHS, will subsidize the purchase of telemedicine equipment and infrastructure development.

OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and Center for Health Sciences welcomed a new class of students to campus this month. It was an exciting time for all involved as it was the beginning of our inaugural class at the OSU COM at Cherokee Nation. Our graduate college held a virtual orientation for our new graduate students. We have several new students enrolled in our various graduate programs including Athletic Training, Biomedical Sciences, Health Care Administration and Forensic Sciences.
