OSU alumna receives award from Daughters of the American Revolution

Oklahoma artist Anita Fields (Osage/Muscogee) has been selected to receive the Women in the Arts Recognition Award from the Cimarron Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Fields is noted for her clay and textile arts that reflect her native Osage culture. She was born in Oklahoma and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. The Cimarron Chapter — located in Stillwater, in partnership with the OSU Museum of Art — nominated Fields for this award.

Japanese artist exhibition set to open at OSU Gardiner Gallery of Art

An exhibition of works by Japanese artist Manami Ishimura opens Jan. 19 at the Gardiner Gallery of Art in the Bartlett Center on Oklahoma State University’s Stillwater campus.

Pokes PodCAS: Alvin and the dinos

Ever wondered what it’s like to deep-sea dive, going miles below the ocean surface to collect micro fossils at the sea floor? Boone Pickens School of Geology professor Dr. Ashley Burkett gives us her firsthand experience of doing just that, including *ahem* how they use the bathroom down there. (“Down there” meaning aboard the Alvin, a crewed deep-sea research submersible owned by the U.S. Navy.)

Faculty Spotlight: Liz McCullagh, Department of Integrative Biology

Dr. Liz McCullagh is an assistant professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at OSU

 

Dr. McCullagh joined the Oklahoma State University faculty in January 2020 as an assistant professor in the Department of Integrative Biology. Her group is interested in how the brain localizes sounds in the environment and what factors influence sound localization ability.
