##SENDGRIDOPENTRACKING##

CAS faculty and staff,

Ever wonder who's sending these emails? It's the CAS Outreach team, and we don't just send out newsletters — we produce videos, design graphics, coordinate online and study abroad courses, collaborate with national organizations for professional development programs and much more! Check out this new video to learn what CAS Outreach is all about (and how we can help you!).

Adding to the list of Outreach efforts, a big part of what we do is telling your stories and showcasing the excellent work from your departments through podcasts, news releases and other communications efforts. We are currently working on the new issue of Connect, the annual CAS magazine. If you have any suggestions for stories or any good news to share, please contact me at jacob.longan@okstate.edu.

Also, on behalf of all of CAS, I’d like to extend congratulations to the following faculty members on their reappointment as department heads: Drs. Tyrrell Conway (Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics), Chris Francisco (Department of Mathematics), Alyson Greiner (Department of Geography), Camelia Knapp (Pickens School of Geology) and Thad Leffingwell (Psychology). Also, if you hadn’t heard, Dr. Francisco will serve as OSU’s Interim Vice Provost. In his stead, Dr. Anthony Kable will be Mathematics’ interim department head. Our college and university are lucky to have all of these aforementioned individuals, and so many others, who step up and lead in various capacities. They are all key to the many ways we connect, achieve and succeed.

Go Pokes!

Faculty Scholar Spotlight: Louise Siddons, Department of Art, Graphic Design, and Art History

Art History professor Dr. Louise Siddons immigrated to the U.S. as a child and has spent the bulk of her career trying to understand how this country imagines itself into being through visual culture. She believes that art has the power to show us our best selves and to articulate hope in the face of brutality, discrimination, and despair. That hope is embodied in the objects artists make, and so museum work has always been a core element of Siddons’ practice.
