Association Announces Job Opening

Chesapeake Donates $500,000 to OSU

OKLAHOMA CITY – Chesapeake Energy Corporation  announced a $500,000 donation Wednesday to Oklahoma State University to assist with student scholarships in the Boone Pickens School of Geology and the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT). The donation raises Chesapeake’s scholarship commitment on the Stillwater campus to $1 million.  Chesapeake made a $500,000 donation in 2003 dedicated to students from rural Oklahoma.

OSU Breaks Ground on New Classroom Facility

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Chancellor Glen Johnson joined officials from Oklahoma State University and Northern Oklahoma College Friday to break ground on the North Classroom Building. Cowboys at Troy for Friday Game

The Oklahoma State Cowboys, 1-1 on the season following Saturday night’s victory over Florida Atlantic, will have a short work week as they return to action Friday night at Troy against the Trojans from the Sun Belt Conference. The Trojans are 0-2 after a difficult start that has included road trips to Arkansas and Florida. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. (Troy is in the central time zone). The Trojans are opening their home season by hosting the Cowboys.

OSU Launches United Way Campaign

Oklahoma State University Interim System CEO & President Marlene Strathe and her husband John Lowthian officially kicked off the 2007/2008 OSU United Way campaign Wednesday by signing their pledge cards. 

“This year OSU has set a goal of raising $180,000 to support the Stillwater Area United Way,” said Strathe who is serving as chair of this year’s OSU United Way Campaign.

OSU Student on "Good Morning America"

TULSA, Okla. – OSU-Tulsa student Cindy Downes is about to get her moment in the national spotlight.

Downes was chosen by ABC’s “Good Morning America” to be featured in a story about the increasing number of Baby Boomers who are returning to college to earn their degree. She is currently working on a degree in journalism and broadcasting at Tulsa Community College and OSU-Tulsa.

An ABC producer and film crew visited OSU-Tulsa and TCC today to film the segment which is scheduled to air the morning of Friday, Sept. 7th.

The world will need a few years to appreciate his impact, but the scientific community already has ranked Grischkowsky, Regents Professor and Bellmon Professor of optoelectronics at Oklahoma State University, among the most influential optical engineers and scientists of the 20th century.
