OSU students win big with “Cold Bottle Designs”

Oklahoma State University seniors Joseph Pruitt and Blake Ferrell have won big, earning the $20,000 top prize at the statewide Governor’s Cup competition for a business plan that could help change the way cold drinks are bottled.

OSU Foundation to display Tiger originals

A public showing of paintings by Native American artist Dana Tiger will go on display starting Thursday at the OSU Foundation.  The exhibition of Native American acrylics and watercolors will open with a book signing for “The Oklahoma Woman’s Almanac,” a book coauthored by OSU professors Robert Darcy and Jennifer Paustenbaugh, with cover art by Tiger.

Tools donated to OSU-Okmulgee

MATCO Tools donated more than $20,000 worth of tools recently to OSU-Okmulgee’s Pro-Tech Automotive program. Instructors at OSU-Okmulgee were allowed to select the tools and equipment. OSU body armor saves lives in Iraq

Almost 5,000 armored suits, designed by OSU researchers, are now in use in Iraq where Marines are putting the protective outfit through its final field test. That was among several positive announcements that emerged from a news conference at OSU this morning with Congressman Ernest Istook. The armored suit, called QuadGard, was developed and designed by Drs. Donna Branson, Cheryl Farr and Semra Peksoz with the department of Design, Housing and Merchandise in the OSU College of Human Environmental Sciences.

Orange and White Spring Football Game

Come cheer on the Cowboys in their annual Orange/White Spring Football game. The game will be held at 5:00 pm on April 22 in Boone Pickens Stadium.  As a part of the Orange/White festivities, the “Legends of the Gridiron” will be in attendance.  Around 300 former football players including Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, and former head coach Pat Jones will be in attendance for the game.

Hey Mom… it’s the 41st Annual Spring Sing Production

Spring FlowerOSU’s annual Spring Sing production has teamed up with Coaches vs. Cancer again. The show, scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at 5:30 p.m. during Mom’s Weekend, includes performances from 11 fraternity and sorority groups. The overall theme for this year’s show is “Hey Mom.” Tickets cost $12 at the show, with $1 from each ticket being donated to Coaches vs. Cancer. The day of the show, tickets will be for sale at the north entrance to Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Grandparent University Registration Limited

Registration for Grandparent University opens April 3.  Grandparent University is for fully registered legacies ages 7-14 and their grandparents, who must be a member of the Alumni Association. The event will be held June 22-23.  This year's majors are architecture, athletic training, aviation, broadcasting, entomology, fire protection, horticulture and veterinary medicine.

Fundraiser for Timber Eaton

Timber Lane Eaton, OSU junior agricultural economics major and member of the OSU Pom Squad and Pi Beta Phi Sorority, remains in critical condition at the Integris Baptist Hospital Intensive Care Unit in Oklahoma City.  She was taken by medical helicopter on Tuesday, March 21, from Stillwater Medical Center suffering from the most fatal symptoms of bacterial meningitis.
