OSU Alumni Association - Your Orange Connection
Legacy Program

A Legacy Defined
The Association's definition of a legacy is any child "lucky enough" to have one or even two parents or grandparents who are members of Oklahoma State University Alumni Association.

For a child to be a part of the legacy program, parents or grandparents need to be current members of the Alumni Association. The parent or grandparent also needs to complete the official registration form in order for the legacy to receive full benefits.

Legacy Gifts FREE for
Registered Children or Grandchildren of Members

During different stages of childhood, legacies will receive gifts and the opportunity to attend chapter legacy programs from the Alumni Association to remind them they are a part of the OSU family. Gifts will be mailed to the address of the Alumni Association member that registered the legacy. In order for legacies to receive each gift, the Alumni Association member must stay current on their Association dues. All legacy gifts are age appropriate and therefore cannot be retroactive.

Plan Now for Grandparent University
Grandparent
University is a 1 1/2 day summer camp to take place on the Oklahoma State campus. It is an intergenerational educational experience in which a grandparent may "enroll" with a grandchild for this special event. Pairs will be housed and fed in the University housing suites, taught in OSU classrooms and facilities, and after completing the curriculum, will "graduate" with a "degree" in one of eight "majors."  Next year's Grandparent University is tenatatively set for June 2008.

Participants will enjoy delicious Hideaway Pizza followed by an evening group activity. The cost is $10.00 per person. Legacies are also invited to stay the night and attend the Student Alumni Board's Leadership Conference.
Cost of the conference is $40.00.  Visit the Student Alumni Board website for more information about the Legacy Day and Leadership Conference or contact Melisa Parkerson at (800) 433-4678.

Camp Cowboy
OSU legacies who are graduates of Oklahoma high schools and who are enrolled at OSU have the opportunity to attend Camp Cowboy, the summer freshman transition program, free of charge. The tuition for Camp Cowboy is approximately $150 and will be paid by the Alumni Association so long as the parent or grandparent of the legacy is a current member of the Alumni Association.
